Unik Fabrics (Pvt) Limited is member company of PCI Group.Pak Carpet Industries commenced its humble beginnings in 1949, with the trading of hand made carpets. The founders of the Group set an aim before themselves to help the newly formed nation through the development of an indigenous base for the industry in Pakistan, with a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction through stringent quality measures. PCI currently is the largest retailer of machine made carpet in Pakistan.Concentrating on consolidation led to the diversification into the field of manufacturing in 1951, and the same year, PCI was able to commence exports of its hand-made carpets. Further development in the Group's activities took place in 1965, when it ventured into the retail marketing of machine made carpets.Within a short span of 3 years, Pak Carpet achieved the distinction of winning the President's Export Trophy for 1969-70.Continually expanding operations, manufacture of Needle Punched carpets was undertaken in 1978, and in the 80's, yet another dimension to the portfolio was added when manufacture of woolen machine made carpets was started in 1984.Expansion led to the establishment of an in-house facility for the dyeing, spinning and cabling of yarn, after which the Group entered the field of carpet manufacturing for automobiles. In 1985, carpets for Suzuki FX started to be produced.
